All Hail, Queen of Manila Streets:

Step in Escolta, the Living Museum

Escolta is a historic street in Binondo Manila, known for its Art Deco architecture. It was originally known as the “Queen of Manila Streets” and was once the city's prime business zone and the heart of commerce and trade in the Philippines. Its fortunes declined after WWII and it lost its status as Manila's commercial and financial core. Nevertheless, Escolta has been revitalized and a number of old structures have been restored.

The street is now a popular tourist and local destination, home to a variety of historical landmarks, restaurants, shops, and cafes. Escolta Manila has a diverse and dynamic community that became home to a mix of cultures and cuisines. There are numerous cultural sites, museums, and art galleries to explore.
